Meta

As a product designer in Meta's Research Platform group, I design impactful products and features for both internal teams and external users. This involves UX/UI design, user research, redesigning the Viewpoints user-facing research app, improving user engagement and response rates, as well as designing solutions for complex internal tools, improving productivity and efficiency. I collaborate with my team to ensure successful project outcomes while adhering to company values. Here are some selected projects!

Viewpoints Funnel Redesign

Viewpoints Funnel Redesign

Overview

Redesign of the Viewpoints app funnel at Meta to improve user engagement and completion rates.

Challenge

Addressing unnecessary friction, complexity, and multiple failure points that led to low completion rates and high acquisition costs.

Anecdote

To convince the team of the need for a redesign, I presented my onboarding experience with Viewpoints through a detailed presentation. It included a user journey of the existing funnel with timing, screenshots, pain points, and design heuristics. By analyzing this information, I helped the team clearly understand the necessity of a new design.

Outcome
  • Simplified language and minimized cognitive load, making the app easier to use.

  • Improving funnel completion rates by reducing friction and creating an intuitive, consistent UI.

  • Enhanced reliability and performance, tailored for iOS, Android, and all screen sizes.

  • Decreasing acquisition costs while increasing efficiency and user satisfaction.

Fatigue Test

Overview

Development of a survey distribution system for Meta’s research platform, focusing on optimizing user engagement and minimizing survey fatigue.

Challenge

Designing a sophisticated yet user-friendly tool to manage survey distribution across all Meta apps, while determining the optimal cooldown duration between surveys.

anecdote

To simplify the complex feature of survey cooldown, I employed visualization techniques that organized time and delivered real-time data at every stage of the test. During the audit stage, I explored various tools both within and outside of Meta, which led to a breakthrough in how we visualized and tracked user engagement. This approach was instrumental in convincing the team to adopt our proposed solutions.

Outcome
  • Successfully developed a survey distribution system that allowed targeted, customizable survey deployment across Meta’s family of apps.

  • Created a friction-free, intuitive user interface that improved the experience for researchers, supporting long-term research efforts.

  • The visualization techniques used in the design enabled real-time tracking and analysis, contributing to more accurate and actionable insights for researchers.

  • The project fostered collaboration across researchers, engineers, and product experts, leading to a highly effective tool, which is currently active and undergoing testing.
